What is the ruling on a vow that cannot be kept?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

What is the ruling on a vow that cannot be kept? The vow was made rashly and now it is very difficult to maintain it. It was mentioned that should the vow be broken,  a certain number of fasts will be kept. Can the person keep a fast in order to remove the oblligation of the vow? Please advise
