Removing Urine from a Sofa
Urine is removed from a sofa or the like by first diminishing the filth with a towel, and then repeating the following steps three times:
(1) pour water upon the spot such that it is dripping wet
(2) pat the spot dry
After the third drying, the sofa is pure [Ibn Nujaym; al-Bahr al-Raiq].
Sitting on a Sofa Dampened with Urine
If you sat on the sofa dampened with urine, then your clothing/body is impure –only if traces of the impurity (i.e the smell or color) are clearly manifest. A feeling of dampness is of no consequence [Tahtawi/Shurunbulali, Hashiyat Maraqi al-Falah].
