Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulfiqh.com

Question:

I am considering starting a cake business and wanted to know the Islamic ruling on whether I can sell birthday cakes.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

As long as the ingredients are Halāl, it is permissible to make and sell birthday cakes.[1]

And Allah Ta’ālā Knows Best
