Closing the Eyes in Prayer (Hanbali Fiqh)

Answered as per Hanbali Fiqh by HanbaliDisciples.com
Q: What is the ruling of closing one’s eyes during prayer?
A: As explicitly reported, it is disliked to close one‘s eyes during prayer without a need as it is considered a Jewish ritual and never assumed act of sleep.

A need would be like closing one’s eyes to avoid seeing something that should not be seem during prayer like one’s spouse in the nude or, even worse and impermissible, an unclothed stranger.
