Wudhu when reading Quran from ipad or iphone etc

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Question:

Assalam u alaikum
If someone is reading Quran from their Ipad or phone, do they have to be in a state of wudu?(like when they are reading from the physical Book)

Answer:

Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

No, they do not have to be in a state of wudhu to read it in this manner, however, if one is in the state of major ritual impurity (need a compulsory bath), one will not be allowed to read it (even in this manner).
