Standing at the feet side of the grave

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Would ziyarat for the deceased be performed within the boundary of the qabarstan? Is it not an ibadat of ziyarat if I prayed from outside the boundary?

Bismillaah

A: The ziyaarat of general deceased can be done from any spot in the qabrastan. If it is a specific person it should be done near him, preferably at his feet side. You should be face to face with the deceased.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
