Can Muslims Participate in Black Friday Sales?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have read the following fatwa http://www.muftionline.co.za/node/23325 regarding black friday. From what I understand the ruling that a Muslim should not advertise with this and he should not buy in these sales. Is my understanding correct or can a muslim still buy?

Bismillaah

A: It is not appropriate for a Muslim that he gets himself involved in these types of customs. Apart from it being alien to Islam getting bumped from one side to another and in such a crowd where males and females are all mixed up bumping into each other, is it worth it for the few coppers that you may save.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
