Who should sit in the hearse with the driver?

Q: Is there any particular ruling as to who should sit in the hearse with the driver?

Bismillaah

A: There is no specification in this regard. However, if the deceased is a female, then a mahram should be present in the hearse.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

وليس للكافر غسل قريبه المسلم

قال الشامي : قوله ( وليس للكافر الخ ) أي إذا لم يكن للمسلم قريب فيتولى تجهيزه (رد المختار 2/231)
