Ownership of trees planted in school

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My father in law is a teacher in a government school. And he is interested in gardening. He planted many kinds of trees in school. Are the fruits of the trees in school halal for him?

Bismillaah

A: If the authorities allowed him to plant then there is no problem. The tree belongs to him as well as the fruit of the tree.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
