Keeping the name Muhammad Ahad

Q: Can I name my son “Muhammad Ahad”? I really like this name but somebody said that you can’t use this name as it’s one of the attributes of Allah Ta’ala. 

Bismillaah

A: Yes.

There are attributes of Allah Ta`ala that can be used for people as well, and there attributes that cannot be used. Attributes that can be used are like malik, kareem, etc. Ahad is also one such attribute.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
