Gathering on the fortieth day after the demise of a deceased

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: We having my moms Esaal-e-Sawaab (40 day) on the 11th and I was given the task to have a message typed to paste into the Yaseens that will be given on that day. Please advise what would be appropriate.

Bismillaah

A: The right thing is that you recite from wherever you are. You do not have to congregate at any place. This is much more beneficial and rewarding.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
