Conducting with one’s parents who have become murtad

Q: If one’s parents become murtad, should he have relationship with them?

A: He should invite them to Islam. If they do not wish to revert to Islam then he should still treat them kindly, however he should not obey them in things that go against the Deen of Islam.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا ۖ وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿لقمان: ١٥﴾
