Is it permissible in Islam if a man pays his in-laws certain amount of money in order to marry their daughter? What should he do if the in-laws demand him to pay certain amount of money to marry their daughter?

Answer

It is not lawful for in-laws to demand money due to marrying the girl, it is bribe. In the same way, as per the rules, it is not lawful for girl’s family to give money to boy’s family for nikah.
