Many representatives of mosques from small villages visit during Ramadan and they collect zakah money for constructing toilets and bathrooms inside the mosque campus. (1) Is it permissible to give zakah money for this purpose? (2) If we have given zakah for this purpose then our zakah is accepted or not? Kindly reply in the light of Quran and Hadith.

It is not lawful to use zakah money in building toilet. This work should be done with common charity fund. If you give zakah for the construction of toilet then your zakah will not be paid.
