Man Forbidding himself for his Betrothed before Conclusion of Marriage Contract is Inconsiderable

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Darul Iftaa Jordan
If a man says to his betrothed, before conclusion of their marriage contract, "You are forbidden for me just as my mother, sisters and daughters are forbidden for me as far as the sexual relation is concerned." Does this make her forbidden for me in marriage?

Answer:

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

What you said to her doesn`t make her forbidden for you in marriage because you haven`t concluded the marriage with her yet and she is considered a non-Mahram (Marriageable). Therefore, it is permissible for you to marry her. And Allah the Almighty knows best.
