I have currently also heard from my Ulama that copying software, piracy is not permissible. Is there such thing as intellectual property or copyright?

This is why I have deleted software and I have started to buy it also. How did you (or Ulama of the Ahla-Sunnah) reach the conclusion that software copying is not permissable.
