Is Ghusl Obligatory after a Suppository?

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Shafiifiqh.com

If a person use an anal or vaginal suppository, is the ghusl wajib?

Answer:

An obligatory ghusl is necessitated when one of the following occurs (Minhaj al-Talibin 78),

1)   Death [mawt].

2)   Menstruation [hayd].

3)   Childbed [nifas].

4)   Child birth [wiladah] according to the relied-upon view [al-asahh].

5)   A state of major ritual impurity [janabah]. This state occurs when a male part penetrates a female part or by ejaculation.

Nothing besides these will necessitate an obligatory ghusl.

Allah knows best.
