Discharge from the Outer Body

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Amjad Rasheed

If something that exactly resembles madhy [translatable as “pre-ejaculate”] exits from a woman, but it exits from the outer body (i.e. that which is exposed when she squats), and not from the inner, is it pure or filthy?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

This secretion is indisputably pure: it is rutubat al-farj, or the moisture from the private parts, not madhy, since [madhy] is secreted from the inside, not the outside. It says in the Tuhfah, “…and the moisture from the private parts (rutubat al-farj), namely the front part: it is a white fluid between madhy and sweat that is secreted from inside the private parts where it is not necessary to wash; as opposed to that which is secreted from where it is necessary to wash [i.e. that which is exposed when squatting], for it is indisputably pure; and that which is secreted from beyond the inner private parts, for it is indisputably filthy, like any other secretion from the inside [of the private parts].”
