Exposure of single strand of hair: Does it invalidate woman’s prayer?

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Amjad Rasheed

If one strand of a woman’s hair shows while she is praying, does that invalidate the prayer? Does it change anything if she immediately covered the hair after it was exposed?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Yes, it does invalidate a woman’s prayer if any of the hair from her head shows, even if only a little. There is no benefit in covering it immediately after it has been exposed if it was showing from the beginning.
