Recitation of follower in silent prayer – (Hanbali Fiqh)

Answered as per Hanbali Fiqh by TheHanbaliMadhhab.com

In silent prayers, particularly in the first and second rakat, should the follower recite the additional surah after al-fatiha? Even though this is likely to differ from the imam.

Answered by Imam Zahed Fettah

Bismillah,

Yes he should. There is no harm in it being different from the imam, just as there is no harm in making a different du’a or dhikr from the imam during sujud or tashahhud.

And success is from Allah
