If a person took drugs, can he perform Salaah?

A. All type of intoxication’s are prohibited in Islam including drugs. All efforts should be made to abandon such a habit and abundant Taubah and Istighfaar should be made.

In any case, if a person had taken drugs and he had some level of control and understanding of his surroundings, the performance of Salaah will remain obligatory upon him. Accordingly, he will make Wudhu and perform his Salaah.

However, if he does not have any control and understanding of his surroundings, it would be prohibited for him to perform Salaah. (Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah 21/480)
