Are wigs allowed?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Salam whats the ruling behind wearing a wig made from animal hair?

Walaikumussalam w w

Not allowed for several reasons

1, Dhoka: there is deception, ie. that the wearer tries to hide his age etc
2, Tashabbuh:
3, The joining of hair with locks is not permitted, and the wig is worse than just joining hair.
4, La’nat has been mentioned upon joining the hair with other hair. Anything upon which la’nat of Allah is attracted will be classed as haram.
