When should Masbooq stand up?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

When you have missed rakaats in jamaat salaat when the imam says “asalamualaykum wa rahmatullah”

1) When do you stand up, after them imam says first salaam or after he says second salaam?

2) When you stand up do you say allahuakbar and thana or do you just says thana and continue?

Answer

You should stand up when the Imam begins the second salam.

Sometimes after the first salam the Imam may have to go into sajda-e-sahw, therefore if you stand up when he begins the second salam you can be sure there is no sajda-e-sahw.
