Isale thawaab for a living person

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Can you do isale thawaab for any muslim female/male relation/non relation who is alive or can you only do isale thawaab for deceased persons?

Answer

Hajje badal is allowed, which is when you perform hajj on behalf of a disabled person who cannot travel to Makkah Mukarramah, so similarly, Isale thawaab for a living person is also allowed – it’s the same as making dua for them.
