Girl Name

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualaikum,

I am looking for the best girl name with very good meaning.

Actually I was looking names from paak daman wives of All Ambiya (A.S) or Sisters of All Ambiya (A..S)

Please give name with meaning and description of wives’ names or sisters’ names of Ambiya (A.S)

First point is this that we don’t have the knowledge of all the Prophets (A.S.)

It’s obvious that when we don’t even know these Prophets, how we can tell the names of their wives and their sisters.

Second point is this that in some ضعیف narrations the number of the Prophets A.S. has been told to be one hundred and twenty four thousand. Then some of them had the Nikah and some did not. And this is also obvious the whether we have the knowledge or not it’s beyond our capacity to write the names of the wives of more or less one hundred and twenty four thousand Prophets (A.S)

Third point is this that some names are in the Syriac language, and some in Hebrew language, and some in some other language, and we don’t even know these languages, therefore, it’s difficult to describe their meanings.

Fourth point is this that those names are mentioned in the historical narrations or in the books which are tampered with, which can’t be told with certainty.

Fifth point is this that so many differences are found in the narrations about the names, therefore, it is difficult to ascertain any name.

Hence, please find following the names of some famous Prophets A.S. and their wives with the difference of narrations:

The name of the wife of Hazrat Adam A.S. is Hawwa.

The name of the wife of Hazrat Nooh A.S. is Walihah, or Wahilah, or Wa’ilah.

The name of the wife of Hazrat Loot A.S. is Wali’ah or Walihah.

The name of the wife of Hazrat Moosa A.S. who is the daughter of Hazrat Shuaib A.S. is Safoorah or Safoora’.

The name of the wife of Hazrat Ayyoob A.S. is Rhamat who was the daughter of Hazrat Yusuf A.S. or in one narration, her name was Layya who was the daughter of Hazrat Yaqoob A.S. or the grand-daughter of Hazrt Yusuf A.S.
