I am in a great dilemma and would appreciate if you can shed some light regarding the following incident that happened in my close family.
A 6-year-old boy was found re-enacting an intimate position on a same age girl. It was found by the girl’s parents in their house. The girl was totally unaware of what was happening to her. Both kids are cousins and had their clothes on. This happened in the bedroom and the door was open. The boy was visiting with his grandparents (who are also the girl’s grandparents) and his parents were out of town at that moment.
When informed, the boy’s parents reaction was that its human nature to be curious and this is how boys are. Some boys hide and do it and some don’t. It is not something that should be made into a big deal.
Is this something that needs to be disregarded because it’s in a boy’s nature? I have a young son as well, what should I do if I find myself in a similar situation?
I would greatly appreciate if you can please advice how a sensitive matter like this should be dealt with in our Deen.

It is obvious that this is a very bad act, even though it is an age of immaturity, however, children should be stopped from it, and the reaction comments of the parents are also inappropriate, though it is correct that one should not make such things a big deal, however, it doesn’t mean either that one should keep silence seeing kids doing like this and leave them. For this reason the children should be watched over, and it is eminent for the parents too not to fulfill their physical needs in the presence of the children, this is against modesty and also against the training of the children.
