Dealing with Inner Insecurities

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualaikum

I am trying my best to walk on the right path however, I can not refrain myself from making comments that might hurt others. I really want to stop doing that. I make comments that I know might hurt the person infront of me and yet I still do it. How should I stop?

I am dealing with inferority complex. Please help me overcome it. I want to be positive and think positive but at times I can’t.

Any statement that you make in front of someone, if it is necessary to make and is the truth, and by keeping quiet (or not mentioning it) there is a possibility of facing loss from a worldly or hereafter standpoint, then it should be mentioned. However, you should maintain positive mannerism, be polite, use kind words and consider the stature (and due respect) of the person you are talking to. InshahAllah, in this manner, the conflict will not arise. If however, there is no loss (from this world or hereafter standpoint) in keeping quite then one can remain quiet and distance one’s self from such a gathering.

A person who suffers from inferiority complex, only him (or her) is to blame for it. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala has provided the rectification of such inferiority complex in a person’s own hands. The first step towards such rectification is to remove the fear and unnecessary concern regarding makhlooq (creation) from your heart. Ensure that when you are taking a step towards righteousness, then you should not be worried about others’ objections. Remain steadfast, keep your braveness at its peak, bring firmness in your intentions and actions, InshahAllah this issue will get rectified.
