Uttering statements of Kufr (disbelief)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

 Assalam Alaikum,

If a Muslim woman said the words “Will Allah physically come and help” or “Will the friends (awliya) of Allah will come and help” under the influence of severe pain during,  does these statements constitute kufr or disbelief? If yes, does she has to perform repentance (tawbah) and recite the shahadah again? What will be the effect of these statements on her Nikha? Does she have to perform a new Nikah with her husband? Please elaborate on the process.

JazakAllah Khair

As per the situation described in this question, by stating those sentences (specially when the true intention or belief of the person is unknown), a ruling cannot be rendered stating that this person is out of the fold of Islam or has lost their Imaan. Thus there is no need for renewal of her Nikah.

However, it is imperative that one refrains from stating such statements and performs tawbah and istaghfar.
