Is it Allowed to Use Non Permanent Hair Dye in Islam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: Assalam ‘aleykum,

I have heard that dyeing hair with non permanent hair dye is not aloud in Islam as it coats the hair. Is it true?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

No, hair dye is not considered to be a preventative barrier, thus it is permitted to use.

And Allah alone gives success.
