Question : Does listening to an a recording of an ayah of sajda necessitate prostration?

Answer :  No, it is neither required, nor  recommended to prostrate when hearing a recording of the Qur’an, due to there not being a live recital. [cf: Shurunbulali, Imdad al-Fattah].

When the Quran is recited live, such as on a live radio or television broadcast, then a prostration of recital is necessary. [Shaykh Hassan al-Hindi of Damascus]
