Are there Some People Who Will not Marry?

Question: Assalaamualaykum,

I read in the earlier reply that “those of us who are destined to marry in this life do have a ‘soulmate’.

Does that mean that there will be some people who will never find a life partner?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

Yes, it is possible that some people may not get married; and for those people, that will be the best thing for them.

However, be optimistic about what Allah has destined for you, content with the way your life unfolds, and take all reasonably possible means to achieve your goals.

Keep on supplicating and pray for your brothers and sisters in faith. [see: Struggling to Have Children: Ten Key Etiquettes of Du’a]
