Reciting Ayat al-Kursi after Fatihah in Salah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

I would like to know if it is ok to recite just ayat al-Kursi after the Fatiha instead of another sura in the first or second rakat of a fard prayer.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa Alaykum Assalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu,

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful & Compassionate

From a previous question answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani:

It is permitted to limit oneself to Ayat al-Kursi after the Fatiha.

The wajib of recitation is, “the extent of 3 short verses of the Qur’an.” [Radd al-Muhtar] Ayat al-Kursi (Qur’an, 2: 255) is longer than this.
