Wudu Problems for Married Couples

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Mufti Yusuf Mullan

I know a person has to take a whole bath or shower (ghusl) after intercourse, but is there an exception for newlyweds? I mean what about the couple that is on their honeymoon and have intercourse up to five times a day? Do they have to take five showers a day? Please explain.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa alaikum salaam,

Throughout the day and most of the night long periods of time separate the Fard prayers. During these periods the couple may engage in intercourse multiple times without the need of showering each and every time, for the obvious reason of not having any Fard prayer to offer.

Nevertheless it is from the sunna to at least make wudu before every such intercourse.

And Allah knows best.
