Pendant with Qur’an for a menstruating woman…

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Mufti Yusuf Mullan

Is it permissible for a woman to wear a pendant with the Ayat-ul-Kursi:
1) during menstruation?
2) entering the toilet/bathroom?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, ar-Rahman, ar-Raheem and may his abundant blessings be showered on his beloved Prophet, the best of creation.

Wearing such a pendent would constitute direct physical contact with a written verse of the Qur’an. As such it would be impermissible to do so during menstruation, which is a form of major ritual impurity.

Wearing it into the bathroom is also impermissible, if the wording of the verse remains unconcealed.

And Allah knows best.
