Is it appropriate for a male to consult psychologist/sex therapist before marriage to get sex education & information? can a male take medicine to increase sex power/desire before marriage?
Walaikum assalam,
Sex education is not only permitted: it is a praiseworthy goal, as it enables one to fulfill the rights of one’s spouse with excellence, something every Muslim should be most avid to do. However, the means taken to fulfill this goal should be permitted and proper, and should not entail anything not in line with the values and guidance of the Shariah our Beloved Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) came with.
We should also learn the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in sexual matters, as well as other aspects of marriage–the legal, spiritual, and emotional dimensions.
As for “medicine to increase sex power/desire”, a lot of such things are either harmful or hoaxes. The sunna is to respect expertise, and to seek reliable expert opinion in one’s affairs. It is from taking the most effective means available.
And Allah alone gives success.
