hitting someone really badly if they make fun of who you are?

I hope you are fine and in the best of health and iman.
It is wrong to hurt someone if they make fun of you. There are numerous examples from the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) until now, how to behave and act. One of the qualities of the believers is to ignore ignoramus people. Allah states in the Qur�an,
�when they see some frivolity, pass by with dignity.�
In another verse Allah states, �
Though anyone who forgives and put things right will have his reward from Allah Himself (40:37)
Read the life of the Prophets, especially the sirah of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and those who followed him in word and action until now. You will come to know of their behaviour and action.
