Consuming unlawful food unknowingly

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

If one unknowingly consumes food that is haram and one only discovers that the food is haram halfway through the meal. Does this mean that one’s prayer and supplication is invalid for 40 days even though the course of action was purely unintentional? Please provide references from Quran and authentic Sunnah in order to support your answer.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah,
