Overlooking others faults for the sake of Allah… and acquiring good character

I read an answer mentioning that we are supposed to love our Muslim brothers and try to oversee their bad qualities or faults. My question is, when ever I am around some Muslim brothers, they irritate me to such an extent that my bad qualities and anger come out. In this situation can I avoid them as much as possible?
