Would a career in real estate, as an agent, broker, or appraiser be permissible?

Would a career in real estate, as an agent, broker, or appraiser be permissible?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu alaykum

In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth.

For the most part there is nothing wrong with this career as long as one does not tell untruths in trying to convince a potential buyer and stays away from the interest-bearing loans part of it. Hence, it would not be permitted to sell, encourage, recommend, or guide one’s customers to secure such interest bearing loan, or act as an agent for a mortgage company. If you sell to a person and he pursues such a loan on his own behalf then you are not blameworthy for that.

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam
