Medications While Fasting and Injections

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Can you please tell me if it’s permissible to use topical skin medications on the skin, such as Retin-A, that are ABSORBED by the skin, when one is fasting?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

In the Hanafi school, such medication would not affect your fast in any ways. In fact, even injections do not break the fast.

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani.
