Praying Sunnahs Before the Prescribed Time has Entered

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Sidi Fadi Qutub Zada

This is regarding mistakenly praying Sunnahs on Jummah day when the first adhan is given before the usual. Is it valid, or not? Should one pray again?

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious and Merciful

It is not valid to pray the Sunnah before its time has entered. Therefore, one should repeat the prayer once the time enters.

Two conditions (related to time) must be met in order for a prayer that is restricted to one of the five daily prayer times to be valid:

1- The actual time must enter

2- One must believe or have strong assumption that it has entered. [`Ala al-Din `Abidin, al-Hadiyya al-`Ala’iyya]
