An Active Heart: 04 – Fear of wrong motivation when doing the good

When I think of something new & good to do, my first reactive thought to that is always imagining a person besides me saying “look he was responsible for this mashaAllah”. Now, I’ve thought about this really hard and I KNOW (inshaAllah) that I don’t do anything for the sake of people. I even think this person I imagine is not really a human, but an angel. And I do this cause I’m fantasizing the angels mentioning my deeds to Allah (or vice versa). What do you think these immediate thoughts mean?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad, his folk, companions, and followers

Wassalam
