Attending ghusl for deceased

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

What is the ruling on attending a ghusl being performed on a dead Muslim male? One would be going simply to watch and be reminded of death and would not be participating in the ghusl itself.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

There is nothing wrong with attending the ghusl of a dead Muslim even if one isn’t assisting in the washing, if there is a sound reason (such as remembering death) in doing so.

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
