Everybody has somewhat joined so from really close up, I’m sure it would be visible but it’s not even a remotely severe case Alhamdulillah. I never shaped them, just “cleaned up” the strays and have not done it for a while now since I found out that it is not allowed. Recently I got engaged Alhamdulillah and would like to know if it there are any exceptions if the husband doesn’t like the strays or would prefer if they were removed. I feel as if this is a little too much since, atleast to me, it is not a big deal but maybe for him it is. I have researched it a little and read that if it’s a case where the husband wants it done, it is okay. I know that pleasing one’s spouse is a high priority but I also fear that I would earn the anger of Allah if I did it so I felt that I needed to ask a learned person’s opinion instead of reading hadith and random articles and forming my own opinon.

As-salaam walaikum,

I do not have very thick eyebrows nor are they very joined in the middle. Everybody has somewhat joined so from really close up, I’m sure it would be visible but it’s not even a remotely severe case Alhamdulillah.
I never shaped them, just “cleaned up” the strays and have not done it for a while now since I found out that it is not allowed.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

It is permitted to trim one’s eyebrows slightly if they are unusually thick, or to trim the stray hair.

What is interdicted in the Prophetic hadiths is ‘shaping’ the eyebrows. Please search the SunniPath QA (http://qa.sunnipath.com) for related answers.

And Allah alone gives success. Faraz Rabbani
