As far as I know… where its needed, haram is halal… like if some one is dying and his cure is SHARAAB… then its halal for him to drink sharab to save his life… does it apply to stealing as well??? if yes can any one provide me with some hadith or other info…???

Walaikum assalam,

The principles mentioned, that “where it is needed, haram is halal,” is false.

Stealing is something that both the Sacred Law and the sound intellect deem unacceptable, because of its obvious harms.

When one is in need, one should seek charity or other forms of financial assistance. Rarely is this absolutely not available. If the need gets serious, it would become obligatory to beg.

The legal principle is that, “Necessity dictates exceptions,” but also that, “Exceptions are limited to the extent of the need.”

Walaikum assalam,
Faraz Rabbani.
