If it is possible to stop her yourself, this should be the first choice. If not, the person in question should be spoken to letting them know it’s a wrong act. And if both the above are not possible, then if reporting a sister or friend will result in stopping her from wrong doings then it is better to report her to someone like a teacher or parent who can make a difference.

It should be noted that the above should be carried out in accordance with the rules of Sharee’ah and the etiquettes of Da’wah.

The intention should not be to get the person in trouble or to spoil their reputation nor to open up their sins, but should be to help them.
