Is working in insurance or as an actuary halal in Islam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
i was wondering is working in an insurance firm or even working as an independent actuary(one who calculates the amount of insurance premium) halal in islam?

Answer
Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

It will not be permissible to work in such a place where writing, assisting, recording and advising of interest-based transactions and insurances are involved.

The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) invoked curse (La’na) on the receiver of interest, the payer of interest, the scribe and the two witnesses, and he said: They are the same (i.e. in sin). (Sahih Muslim)
