Are you a Hayaati or Mamaati Deobandi?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Assalam`alaikum,

I have seen two kinds of deobandis , Hayaatis who beleive that the Prophet sallalahu alaihi wa sallam is alive and and Mamaatis who beleive that the Prophet sallalahu alaihi wa sallam is NOT alive.

Q1) Which one are you
Q2) If the Hayaatis are correct and Mamaatis are wrong, Since Deobandis are of both kinds, Hayaati Deobandi and Maati Deobandi is it correct to assume that there are Deobandis with good aqeeda and Deobandis with bad aqeeda with regards to the Hayat of the blessed Nabi sallahu alaihi wa sallam.

Please reply clearly and to the point and gain reward, inshallah.

Assalamu alaikum,

It is an unanimity of the deobandi scholars of the past and present that the prophet (SAW) is alive in his grave with a special kind of aliveness. Without any doubt he passed away from this world for a short time.

Allah tala says:

“You will die (O Muhammad) and they (too) will die?”
(Surah Az Zumar v;30)

Then Allah almighty gave aliveness in his grave of a worldly aliveness.

This is not only the aqeedah of ahlus-sunnah deobandis but a general consensus of the whole of ahlus-sunnah.

Molana khalil ahmad saharan poori (deobandi) wrote of unanimity of deobandi ulaamas on this issue:

according to us and our mashaikh (of deoband) the prophet (saw) is alive in his grave of a wordly life without putting any sort of formality. This aliveness is exclusive.

The holy prophet (saw) and all the prophets (as) as well as the martyrs, are not in a barzaki life which is acquired by all muslims in fact by all human beings.

Therefore , Imaam Suyuti (ra) wrote in his essay ?Anbahul-azkiya bi-hayatil-anbiya?. He says allamah taqiud-deen As-subuki (ra) said: the aliveness of the prophets and martyrs in the grave is like their aliveness when they were alive in this world. (Al- muhannad Alal-mufannad. Page 221)
