Can married women pluck their eyebrows for beautification purposes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Asalaamu Alaikum

I was having a discussion with a close friend about the plucking of eyebrows… and she said that once you get married you can pluck your eyebrows as you have to beautify yourself, is this true?

JazakAllah Khair

No, this is not true.

Plucking of eye-brows is very categorically Haraam.

Our beloved Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam cursed women who pluck (other women’s eye-brows) and also those who have them plucked. (Abu Dawood)
