Can I switch from Shaafi to Hanaafi for my future husband?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Assalamulaykum. I am currently following the Shaafi madhab. I am going to be married soon- Inshaalah, my future husband is Hanaafi.

Is it possible to become a Hanaafi?

Answer
Bismillah

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah’s guidance)

Marriage is something that requires compatibilty and understanding, we advise that both husband and wife adopt the same Madhab. However, if both spouses stay on their own Mathhabs, this would also be correct.

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
